Athina was awarded and graduated with a Phd by Public Works from Middlesex University.
Dr. Vahla contributed of an article for the new book Audacious Art Practices: Situating the Contemporary Arts of Africa, edited by Ruth Simbao, Rachel Baasch and Stephen Fọlárànmí (Fine Arts Department, Rhodes University, Makahanda, South Africa).
Dr. Vahla completed of a Foundation Course on Applied Kinesiology from TASK (The Academy of Systematic Kinesiology), Funded by the Equity Trust Foundation, to support Athina in her professional undertaking of a new body - based practice.
