Athina will be part of a project conceived and directed by sound artist Wajid Yaseen, with whom she has collaborated with on past commissions.
The Arts Council England funded project takes place in summer 2023, and touches on the concept of exhaustion extended to abandoned buildings through sound techniques that activate the building’s acoustic response. These events will be accessed via live streaming and workshops broadcast from, and taking place in the geographical area where the structures reside. The elements of the tour are intended to invite discussions about the heritage of the spaces, and the meaning of theses spaces to their local communities.
